Swimathlon Preschool Program (18 Months to 5 Years)
Our preschool swimming program supports early aquatic development through age-appropriate, child-led instruction. Lessons are delivered in the comfort of your home pool by AUSTSWIM-accredited instructors, with a focus on safety, confidence, and joyful exploration.
Program Structure
18–30 Months (Parent & Child Sessions)
• Gentle water introduction with caregiver support
• Sensory play, songs, and bubble blowing
• Supported floating and safe water entry
• Building trust and emotional comfort in aquatic environment
.3.5–5 Years (Preschool Independence)
• Front and back floating with minimal support
• Independent kicking and gliding
• Basic stroke development (e.g., dog paddle)
• Jumping in and climbing out safely
• Underwater retrieval and breath control
• Reinforcement of water safety and emotional regulation
Teaching Approach
• Gentle, child-led pacing with clear visual cues
• Warm, supportive instruction tailored to each child’s stage
• Use of Swimathlon mascot for continuity and reassurance
• Emphasis on emotional safety, aquatic readiness, and skill progression
Swimathlon School Age Program (5–12 Years)
Swimathlon Swim School offers structured swimming lessons for school-aged children, supporting confident, capable swimmers through progressive skill development, stroke technique, and water safety education. Lessons are delivered by AUSTSWIM-accredited instructors in your home pool, with a focus on personalised instruction and emotional readiness.
Program Stages
Stage 1: Foundation Skills (5–7 Years)
• Safe water entry and exit
• Independent floating and gliding
• Breath control and underwater retrieval
Stage 2: Stroke Development (6–9 Years)
• Freestyle and backstroke technique
• Streamlining and body position awareness
• Rhythmic breathing and bilateral coordination
• Introduction to breaststroke kick
• Deep water confidence and treading
Stage 3: Stroke Refinement & Endurance (8–12 Years)
• Full stroke development: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke
• Dive techniques and underwater streamlining
• Lap swimming and endurance building
• Water safety scenarios and rescue basics
• Goal setting and progress tracking
